Water-soluble vitamins

Description

Nine chemically different substances belong to the water-soluble vitamins. Some of them act as coenzymes in numerous enzymatic reactions; others are biological redox systems. Most vitamins are synthesized by plants and microorganisms and are stored in small quantities, particularly in the liver of humans and animals.
