Description

Bacteria, fungi, viruses and other microorganisms - the number of possible infectious agents and therefore also the number of infectious diseases that can affect humans is large. Infectious diseases often have to be treated with prescription drugs, but self-medication is possible for some diseases. Against this background, pharmacy staff are asked questions about infectious diseases on a daily basis when providing advice, and sound advice knowledge is required.

This course therefore focuses on infectious diseases caused by fungi and viruses that are relevant for self-medication. Specifically, these are fungal infections of the skin, nails and mucous membranes of the genital area and, in the area of viral infections, cold sores, aphthae and warts.
