Nutrition and the immune system

Description

In the first part of this topic on the importance of nutrition for the immune system, the most important general knowledge about the immune system is provided. The influence of malnutrition on the immune system is then discussed. Furthermore, the connection between some macronutrients, alcohol intake and the intake of fermented foods on the immune system is explained. Finally, the importance of nutrition in critically ill patients is briefly outlined.

The connection between the intake of vitamins and trace elements and the immune status is explained in the last part of the topic.
